Wednesday 27th October: Zoom webinar

In this event, Dr Tristan Kay will take part in a conversation with the three editors of the recently published Oxford Handbook of Dante: Manuele Gragnolati, Elena Lombardi and Francesca Southerden. The Handbook contains forty-four chapters written by scholars at different career stages around the world and spans a number of disciplines. As well as exploring some key themes, contexts, and sources in Dante’s work, the volume also places a strong emphasis on new theoretical approaches and on Dante’s modern reception. The conversation will focus on the distinctive aims and scope of the Handbook; on current and future directions in Dante studies; on Dante as a global author; and on what we can learn from reading Dante in the twenty-first century.

You can currently access the volume’s introduction for free here.
